She moved to Cascade, VA in 1973 where she has since resided. Mrs. Soyars was a homemaker as well as a member of Cascade Baptist Church where she was a former director of the missions for 19 years, an outreach director, a member of the choir and taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Cascade Village Homemaker Club.
She was married to Garland Bruce Soyars for 27 years who later predeceased her. She later married Robert Malton Soyars who also predeceased her.
She is survived by two sons Glynn E Soyars of Richmond, VA and Randy Soyars of Raleigh, NC, one step daughter Martha Marie Feese of Kernersville, NC, two brothers David Wall of Danville and Bobby Franklin Wall of Bristol, VA; six sisters Louise Dalton, Dorothy Sowell, Lorna Hughes, Patsy Pyron, Nancy Garwood, and June Hylton all of Danville, as well as four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son Danny Ray Soyars, two sisters Hazel Taylor and Esther Soyars and one brother Woodrow Wall.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the nurses and caregivers of the Garden Terrace Nurses Station at Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
Funeral services officiated by Reverend Wayne Mayberry were held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the Swicegood Funeral Home West Main Chapel.
