Emma Hacker Young, 63, of Bowling Green, Ky., passed away Monday, March 1, 2010, at her residence. The Laurel County native was born Jan. 20, 1947, a daughter of the late Walker Hacker and Eva Bowling Hacker. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael Lloyd Hacker and Danny Ray Hacker. Mrs. Young was a graduate of Bush High School, and was an employee of the University Text Book and Supply in Bowling Green. She was a member of Richardsville Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Michael Young, of Bowling Green; two sons, Larry Wayne Settles and Tony Watkins, both of Bowling Green; one brother, Jerry Hacker, of Robinson, Texas; one sister, Connie Hensley, of Bowling Green; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation was from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and again from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
