Mrs. Lilian Hemen, 91, Groton-Ferney area resident, died Friday, Jan. 23, at the Day County Hospital in Webster.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 27, at the Britton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Roth officiating.
Burial will be in the Britton Cemetery. The Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral chapel in Groton and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church in Britton. The family will meet at the church at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Casketbearers will be grandsons, Larry Gulleson and Daniel Hemen both of Britton; Patrick Hemen, Lennox; Mike Hemen, Hardington, Neb.; and Neil Hemen, Minneapolis, Minn.; and great-grandson Brent Larson, Langford.
Mrs. Richard Wismer will be the organist and the congregation will sing.
Lilian Castle was born Dec. 11, 1889 at Spain in Marshall County. She married Floyd Hemen April 4, 1912 at Britton. In 1915 they moved to the Black Hills where they lived until 1931 when returned to Marshall County. In 1949 she moved to Aberdeen where she lived until 1974 when she moved to the Groton-Ferney area to live with her daughter. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Claremont.
Survivors inculde two sons, Kenneth, Minneapolis; and Vance, Britton; three daughters, Mrs. August (Charlotte) Grieben, Groton; Mrs. Arthur (Ruth) Gulleson, Britton; and Mrs. Walter (Lorna) Dahms, Bend, Ore.; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and one grandson.
