Eleanor A. Sheffer Baublitz of York, formerly of Spring Grove, died at 11:43 p.m. May 10 at the Lutheran Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was 87.
Mrs. Baublitz retired from the Spring Grove Area School District after teaching at the Spring Grove Elementary School from 1959 to 1974; she taught at West Manchester Township Consolidated School from 1937 to 1950; and at Bott's School in West Manchester Township from 1935 to1937.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stoverstown and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She was a life member of the York County and Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Associations.
She was a 1931 graduate of William Penn Senior High School in York and a 1933 graduate of Millersville University.
Born in Stoverstown Sept. 15, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Rose Bentz Sheffer. She was the wife of Raymond L. "Barney" Baublitz.
She leaves a son, Bert E. Baublitz of New Freedom; three grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth E. Gentzler of York.
Viewing is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 4767 Lehman Road, Stoverstown. The service is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with her pastor, the Rev. Bradley H. Dayett, officiating.
Burial is in St. Paul's Union Cemetery in Stoverstown.
