Roy Lee Riddick, 88, died October 15, 2012. He was born in Manatee County, Florida, resided in Savannah, Georgia, and died in Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Riddick is survived by his wife of 69 years, Grace Betts Riddick; three daughters, Sharon Burks, Janet Cockerham, and Ginger Hamlett, all of Huntsville, Alabama; his sister, Gail Widner, of Lyons, Georgia, nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. His fourth daughter, Carol Wardlaw, died in 1994. Mr. Riddick served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1954 with a degree in Forestry, and retired from Union Camp Paper Corporation in 1985. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwich Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
