Thurmond Kenneth 'TK' Nicholson, 88, of Burnsville, WV, made his way home on Sunday January 31, 2010 at his residence after a long illness.

TK was born on November 15, 1921 a son of the late Alonzo and Jane Nutt Nicholson. He grew up in Nicholson Hollow (Wolf Pen Rd, Copen) in Braxton County.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ordie, Hoy, Guy, Noah and Mack Nicholson; and sisters Lela (Sis) Bragg and Orphie, who passed in infancy.

TK was married to Viola Mae Johnston on September 28, 2002 at what was then his farm on Posey Run. They were married seven wonderful years.

He is leaving behind his loving wife, many nieces and nephews and grand nephews who loved him very much, and one special nephew who was always at his beck and call, day or night, Dallas and Martha Ellen Nicholson. He also leaves behind many brothers and sisters in Christ.

TK never had any children of his own but God blessed him with eight step-children: Donna Lilly, Shirley Yeager, Brenda Bleigh, Karen Ady, Kenneth Johnson, Anita Gibson, Janet Bosley and Mark Johnston.

Funeral Services were held at 11 am on Wednesday Feb. 3, 2010 at Stockert-Sizemore Funeral Home in Flatwoods, WV. He was buried beside his first wife, Norma Jean Best Nicholson in Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens.
