Eugene Swinbank, 80, of Shullsburg, Wis., shot himself to death Saturday in the home of his niece, Mrs. Ray Krohmer in Marengo.
He had been in ill health for some time, and came to live with the Krohmer's 8 days ago.
A member of the family heard the shot Saturday, went into the house and found Mr. Swinbank dead. McHenry County Coroner Theron Ehorn held an inquest at the Cooper Funeral Home Saturday night, and delayed final action until Thursday.
The body was taken to Shullsburg for burial.
