VETERAN PRINTER DIES

A. R. ZIMMERMAN CONDUCTED
SHOP HERE MANY YEARS.

A.R. Zimmerman, who operat-
ed a print shop in this city for
almost a quarter of a century,
died at his home on Hockaday
last evening at 6 o’clock. He had
been a chronic sufferer from
heart trouble many years, but
was ill only three weeks preced-
ing his death. Mr. Zimmerman
came here in 1908 from Burbon,
Ind. Despite his 76 years he
continued actively in the print-
ing business until his final ill-
ness. About three years ago he
spent a summer in the north for
the benefit of his health and re-
turned home greatly improved.
He was a gold star father, the
loss of a son in the world war
serving to make him a staunch
supporter of Company C active-
ties and an earnest advocate of
greater town loyalty to guards-
men. He held a place on its civil
advisory board for a number of
years.

Mr. Zimmerman is survived by
a widow and four children:
Mrs. Dick Tickel,
Mrs. Hazel Cochran of Detroit,
George Zimmerman of Urbana and
Clyde Zimmerman of Chicago.
He has a sister in Ellsworth and
other relatives in the east who
plan to attend the funeral.
