Obituary... Mrs Wilber Zuber 43, a daughter of Mr and Mrs John Umphress of Villisca, died at 7 PM Friday at her home in Afton. She was seriously injured a year ago last July in an automobile accident and she had been in ill heath ever since.
Funeral services were held at 1 PM on Sunday in the Baptist church at Creston and were conducted by the Rev. Ronald R. Kurtz paster of the church. The funeral cortege then came to Villisca where a brief service were held in the Foster and Stphen funeral chapel. Burial was made in Villisca Cemetery.
Mrs Zuber had completed her own funeral arrangements before her death and had chosen her own funeral text from the 14th chapter of St. John. Pallbearers were members of the Agenda Sunday school class of Creston Baptist church of which Mrs. Zuber was a member.
Zella May Umphress was born May 20, 1892 near Briscoe in Adams county. When she was 2 years old she moved with her parents. Mr. and Mrs John Umphress, to Villisca and she resided here until her marriage October 14, 1903 to Harry Fidler. To this union one son was born Ivian Fidler.
On November 2,1920, she was united in marriage to Wilber Zuber of Cre ston. They made their home in Creston for many years before moving to Afton.
Mrs Zuber is survived by her husband, her son Ivan Lawrence Fidler, her parents Mr and Mrs John Umphress and one brother Guy Umphress of Villisca, and by three sister Mrs Mable Hodges of Creston, Mrs Bulah Garey and Mrs Ada Freeman of Villisca. She leaves also three aunts Mrs Perry Yarrington, Mrs H.N. Wheelock and Mrs L.A. Campbell of Villisca and two uncles Bart Umphress in Canada and Frank Umphress of Villisca.
Mrs Zuber was a baptized Nov 10,1914 at Nodway, and attended the Creston Baptist church during her years of residence there.
