Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Neodesha, Kansas with the Reverend Frank Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel.
Geri was born January 2, 1917 in rural Neodesha, Kansas to John A. and Nell (Vandaveer) Linville. She grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and graduated from the Neodesha High School in 1934.
She was united in marriage to Francis "Earl" Riley on June 1, 1940 in Neodesha, Kansas. Earl preceded her in death on January 10, 1999. Geri worked for 25 years in the Tracy's and then the Eagle Green House. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 60 years, United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and belonged to several quilting clubs.
Survivors include 3 sons, John and wife Nancy Riley of Prairie Village, Ks; Richard and wife Ruth of Valley Falls, Ks; Mark and wife Linda of West Columbia, Tx; Grandchildren Michele Suppes of Ft. Worth, Tx; Sean Riley of Lawrence, Ks; Aaron Riley of Meridan, Ks; Shana Reichart of Valley Falls, Ks; Kandi Coop of Americus, Ks; Tammy Moyer of San Antonio, Tx; Stephanie Nash of Columbus, Ks; Stephen Robnett of Columbus, Ks; Kyle Robnett of Columbus, Ks; Lara Riley of Parsons, Ks; 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son David, two grandsons Ken and Jason Riley, one brother Cyrus Linville and one sister Ernistine Huser.
