Edith M. Young, 65, Lynchburg, died Wednesday at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, Ohio.
Born Sept. 9, 1923, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of Ora W. and Ada C. (Jamison) Mercer.
Her husband, Robert E. Young, to whom she was married June 25, 1949, in Lynchburg, survives.
She was a retired schoolteacher having taught in Mt. Orab, Miamisburg, New Vienna, Lynchburg and Laurel Oaks Schools retiring in 1974 after a total of 20 years. She was a member of the Lynchburg Eastern Star, Lynchburg Mother's Club and the Lynchburg United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are a son Larry L. and daughter-in-law, of Columbus and a granddaughter.
Services were held Saturday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg with Rev. Gary Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.
