Nellie Mae Setney Arnett, 91, arrived in Heaven on Friday, January 18, 2013 from Pine Pointe Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Macon, GA. She was born on March 24, 1021 in Wayne County Georgia to Paul and Margaret (Maggie) Watson Setney.

Nellie grew up in Jesup, GA, She worked for many years as a seamstress for several local shirt factories. Later she was employed by Ward's Sewing Basket, Grant's Department store, and retire from K-mart of Jesup. All of her public employments revolved around her love sewing and her many years of experience as a seamstress. After retiring at age 65, she enrolled in continuing education class in computer basic at, then, Altamaha TechnicalInstiute in Jesup. She was a charter member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Jesup and remained an active church member there until she moved to Baptist Village assited livivg apartment complex in Waycross, GA in the mid 1990s.

Nellie's hobbies were cooking, sewing, reading and caring for childing. She was also a member of the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She eventually moved to Macon, Georgia and was a resident at Warner Robins Rehabilitation Center.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cleveland Arnett, Jr. in 1980.

she is survived by her 4 children: Clifford J. Arnett of Talbotton, GA, J.C. Arnett, lll (wife Deborah Scarborough Arnett ) of Kingsland, GA, Sue Arnett of Nashville, TN, and Nancy A. Copeland (husband Mike Copeland) of Macon, GA. 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral services will be held in the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel of Howard&Jones Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service.

Nurial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to: Pine Pointe Hospice abd Palliative Care Centerm c/o Medcen Community Health Foundation, 777 Hemlock St. MSC 78, Macon, GA 31201.
