The funeral for Doris Roberta Hand Littlefield, 85, of Cherokee, will be 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Cherokee. The Revs. Jim Edmison and Rod Rieger will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born March 8, 1920, in Newton, Kan., to R.R. "Bob" and Ethel Hand and died Wed-nesday, Dec. 21, 2005, in Alva.
She grew up in Newton, graduating from Newton High School in 1938. She lived in Wichita, Kan., for 10 years where she worked for Gas Service Co.
She married Verl Littlefield Dec. 18, 1954. They moved to Cherokee in early 1955 where they farmed. She was in the secretarial pool at Gas Service Co. and became an executive secretary. She also was a sewing teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church of Cherokee where she served in women's groups.
Surviving are one daughter, Treva Arnold of Bethany; one son, Steven Littlefield of Cherokee; one sister, Wilma Fey of Casper, Wyo.; two brothers, Duane Hand of Rogers, Ark., and Bill Hand of Newton; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verl.
