Obituary
Gloversville, Oct. 30 -- Nelson Herdman, a well-known resident of this city, died very suddenly Monday morning, while walking on First avenue, to his home, No 8 Frist avenue. He had gone down street about 10:30 a.m. and about 11:15 returned in company with D. O. Chritian. When the two men had reached the corner of Main and First avenue in front of G. M Place's residence, Mr. Herdman was seen to stagger backwards, but was prevented from falling by Mr. Christian. Death occurred quickly and he was taken to his home. The cause of his death was heart disease, from which he had been a sufferer for some time. He was 65 years of age, and had been a resident of this city about 10 years. He is survied by four children, Harry, Dora, Carrie and Flora Herdman, and five brothers, Norman Herdman and Sperry Herdman of Cherry Valley; Lyman Herdman of Washington D. C; Arthur Herdman, of St. Johnsville, and Emory Herdman of Gloversville. The funeral was held Tuesday evening and the remains were taken to Cherry Valley, his birhplace for interment.
