Mr. George Melvin Hocker Jr. of McKinney, Texas passed away January 16, 2013. He was born on November 29, 1943 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Dorothy Jean and George Melvin Hocker Sr. He served in the United States Airforce after high school before attending college. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Shippensburg University. An international salesman for the Shoe and Garment Industry provided him the opportunity to travel to over 56 countries. George is survived by his wife of 48 years Jan Ella Hocker of McKinney, children Staci Gregory of Shertz, Texas, Terry Hocker of Sherman, Texas, Sonya Knight of McKinney, his mother Dorothy Hocker of Nashville, Tennessee, his sisters Kathy Chester, Jill Herring, and brother Terry Hocker, 10 grandchildren, and many beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his father George Melvin Hocker Sr.
