Mrs. Mary YOUNG, whose 100th birthday was observed last September, died at her home in Bangor, Maine on Wednesday. Her body was taken to Calais and the funeral occurred from the house of her son, Benjamin YOUNG. (St. Croix Courier, December 13, 1883)

Ella was born in Bucksport, ME 26 December 1841, the daughter of Benjamin and Rhoda (Stevens) Young, who moved to Calais when she was a child. As a girl she attended school in St.Johnsbury, VT, and when eighteen years of age she enjoyed a trip to the Mediterranean, by sailing vessel, which was ever after a pleasant memory. On 26 Dec 1865, she was united in marriage to Willis M. Haycock

He married Rhoda Stevens.
