Obituary -- The Recorder, Wednesday, July 10,2002:

WINDSOR, Conn. -- Gloria M. Hill, 70, of 456 West Wolcott Avenue, died Tuesday in Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Northampton, Mass. She was born in Montague, Mass., Oct. 10,1931, the daughter of John H. and Lylda M. (Leonard) Hill. She was a 1949 graduate of Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, Mass., and a 1953 graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, Mass. She received a baccalaureate degree in behavioral sciences in 1966 and a masters degree in education in 1970, both from the University of Hartford. From 1953 until 1958 she was a staff nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, where she later became an instructor in its School of Nursing program. She later was a nursing instructor at the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester, Mass. Prior to retirement in 1997, she was a counselor at Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield, for several years. Prior to that position she was assistant professor of nursing at the Tunxis Community College in Farmington.

Survivors include two brothers, Frank E. of Turners Falls, Mass., and James M. of Buckland, Mass.,and several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She also leaves her best friend of many years, Carolina Cressotti of West Hartford. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home in Shelburne Falls. The Rev. Tom Rabbitt, deacon of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Shelburne Falls, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western New England, 48 Sanderson St., Greenfield MA 01301.
