She was married to Ardie Anderson on August 18, 1923 in Palmyra, Marion County, Missouri. They were the parents of three children; Martha Ellen, Richard E and Bill J.
They farmed in Missouri until 1939 when they moved to the Grinnell area. They farmed in Washington Townsip. Following the death of her husband in 1968 she moved to Grinnell. She worked as a housekeeper at the Mayflower Home.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Blue Point Friendship Club.
