Inez Marie Williams, age 80 of Boone, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Mineral Ridge Cemetery, near Ridgeport, Iowa, with Pastor Jerry Bertelson officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8, at Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home at Fifth & Story Street from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, with the family present to greet friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

Inez was born on March 6, 1931 in Story City, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Eckard) Wood. She attended the Story County Schools in McCallsburg, Iowa.

Inez was married to Charles Howard Williams on July 2, 1958 in Anchorage, Alaska. Inez was a homemaker. In 1990 the couple moved to Boone where they resided. Inez was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Anchorage, Alaska and the First Baptist Church in Boone.

She enjoyed fishing for salmon with her husband, she then smoked the salmon. Inez enjoyed gardening, which she raised vegetables and rhubarb and she loved growing flower gardens, included in her gardens were sweet peas, gladiolas, pansies and roses. Inez would enjoy making jellies including, rosehip jelly. She also enjoyed sewing and reading.

Inez is preceded by her parents; her husband in 2004; her 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Surviving Inez is her children, her daughter, Theresa Davis of Soldotna, Alaska; her son, Wilbur Earle Peet and wife Kathy of Pittsburg, California; her daughter, Sheri Layral and husband Andre of Fairbanks, Alaska; her son, Larry Peet and wife Elizabeth of Wasilla, Alaska; her daughter, Ruth Sharp and husband Dan of Denison, Texas; her step-son, Keith Williams of Traverse City, Michigan; her step-daughter, Karen Parkinson and husband Keith of Ledyard, Connecticut; her step-daughter, Janice Carrington of Sandy Utah; her 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Inez is also survived by her two sisters, Erma Weir of Tucson, Arizona and Iva Corbin of Missouri.

A memorial has been established for the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
