Her obituary found in The State 08 November 1978: Kingstree-Mrs. J. G. McMaster, 93, widow of Dr. J. G. McMaster, died Tuesday in a Columbia nursing home. Born in Williamsburg, she was a daughter of the late John Keith and Cornelia Boyd Gourdin. She was a member of the St. Albans Episcopal Church and a graduate of Chicora College, where she majored in music. She was associated with Agnes Scott College in Decatur, and was a member of the Williamsburg Historical Society, the DAR, and the UDC. Surviving are two sons, John Gregg and H. B. McMaster of Columbia; and six grandchildren. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Mt. Hope Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Stephen Skardon.
