DARLINGTON - Marilyn Graham Sims, age 79, died at her home Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19 at Central Baptist Church with burial in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Born in Darlington County, daughter of the late William Gamewell Graham and Leona Dutton Graham, she was married to the late William J. (W.J.) Sims. Mrs. Sims retired after 40 years from Dixie Cup; worked 3 years at Florence Dialysis and then retired after 15 years from Drs. Sitti and Sitti. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, member of the church choir; and was pianist in the Children's Department and for the evening services. Marilyn loved the Lord, her family, friends and her Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Belinda Sims (Tommie) Turner of Darlington; granddaughter, Shannon (Richard) Elliott of Surfside Beach; great-grandson, Cole Elliott; step-grandson, Christopher Turner of Myrtle Beach; devoted friends, Irene Flanary of Lafollette, TN, Betty K. Knapp of Florence, Alice O'Neal, Rose Ann and S.O. Robinson, all of Darlington; Mrs. John Bell Thomas of Columbia and very special friends: Dr. Sara Sitti and Dr. Orachun Sitti of Florence; also, a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy G. Isgett, Virginia G. Walters, Annetta G. Waddell and her brother, J. E. Graham.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
