Anna Fry Rutherford Armel, 93, of Berryville, Virginia, died January 9, 2013 in a local nursing home.

Ms. Armel was born March 13, 1919 in Summit Point, West Virginia, the daughter of John Pitman Rutherford and Katherine Childs Rutherford.

She was retired from Doubleday Publishing in Berryville.

She was a member of Stone's Chapel Presbyterian Church; Berryville Presbyterian Church and the Clarke County Extension Club.

Surviving are two daughters, a son, five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Her brothers John C. Rutherford and Frederick L. Baker, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 A. M. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Berryville Presbyterian Church, Berryville with Rev. Jonathan W. Bunker officiating.

Burial will follow at 2:00 P. M. in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, VA.

Pallbearers will be David E. Welsh, Duane A. Welsh, J. Michael Swisher, Dusty Hogbin, John Hardesty, David Hardesty and Jaime Gutierrez. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Rutherford, Jr., Franklin Rutherford and Jack Hardesty.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Sunday evening at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, VA.
