Jeremy Michael Cook, age 26, a resident of Strasburg, VA, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012, at his residence.

A funeral service for Jeremy will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at Strasburg Christian Church with Rev. Geneal Wilson and Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Warren County.

Jeremy was born on September 28, 1986, a son of Randy Gene and Cynthia Strosnider Cook.

He was a 2004 graduate of Strasburg High School and member of the Varsity Golf Team. He attended Lord Fairfax Community College and graduated from the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach, SC. Jeremy was currently employed as the Asst. Pro with Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, VA, and was formerly employed at Bowling Green Country Club of Front Royal, VA.

He was a member of Strasburg Christian Church, had a love for life, and was an avid fan of the UVA Cavaliers, Washington Redskins, and the Oregon Ducks. Jeremy was a member of Cub Scout 75 and an Eagle Scout with Troop 5; he was a former player for the Strasburg Midget League, later becoming a team coach.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ronald Cook and maternal grandfather, Clark Strosnider.

Survivors include his parents, Randy Gene and Cynthia D. Strosnider Cook of Strasburg, VA; his brother, Collin R. Cook of Strasburg, VA; his paternal grandmother, Jean Cook, and maternal grandmother, Ida Strosnider, both of Strasburg, VA; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Weatherholtz, Richard Runyon, Chris Dooley, Miles Loughlin, Paul Taylor and James Strosnider.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Scott, Roger Shank, Brian Jones, Riley McDonald, Morgan Kibler, Rakwon White, Colt Scott, and Gary Orndorff.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions in memory of Jeremy M. Cook, to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1400 K Street, NW, Suite 725, Washington, DC 20005.
