Mr. Blake, after high school graduation, proudly served our country in the United States Navy.
He married Evelyn Adams and they have been married 55 years raising two sons together.
He worked for the City of Portland Public Works Dept. where he worked for 33 years.
He will be sadly missed by friends and family.
Mr. Blake is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn of Freeport; two sons, Raymond K. Blake Jr. and Danny and daughter-in-law Angelina Blake; a brother, Herb Sr.; and six grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday evening, Jan. 11, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m., with Herb Blake Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland.
