Mr. Brooks passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 in Alvarado. He was born Jan. 13, 1932 in Hill County to Sam and Minnah Turner Brooks. He married Marlene Basham on Feb. 4, 1955 in Grandview.
Mr. Brooks served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a truck driver and a member of Cleburne Family Fellowship Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marlene Brooks of Grandview; daughters, Katherine Hutchinson, Cynthia Wischnosfke, Charlotte Kirkland, Carolyn Pryor and Leisa Hernandez; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Buddy Brooks.
