Anton Benson died on Thursday after a lingering illness, dating from a fall he had three years ago in which he suffered the fracture of his hip, nearly dying from exposure before succor came. The writer has known decedent all his life and many is the time that Old Anton has enriched us with tales of the Old Fatherland, and as we look back upon these happy childhood days when the good old man made our crude toys, an dal was joy, and now as we saw him suffer these three long years prior to his death, with a calm resignation, we could begin to realize what patience and forbearance means. God in his infinite wisdom suffer these things and we bow meekly in submission. Thy will, not ours, be done.
