Mrs. Augusta Beer, wife of H. F. Beer of this city, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto Horst at Chilton last Friday.

The deceased was born in 1868 at Wayside, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas Hafeman. In 1887 she was united in marriage to Herman Beer at Wayside, and the couple moved to Clark County but later lived at Morrison and also at Charlestown. Nine years ago they retired from farming and took up residence in Brillion. Recently Mrs. Beer became ill and it was decided for her to live with her daughter in Chilton for care.

She is survived by the sorrowing husband, one son, George of California, and five daughters, Mrs. Erna Disch of Waukesha, Mrs. Rose Horst of Chilton, Mrs. Esther Stechert, Brant, Mrs. Vora Kissinger of Milwaukee. There are two brothers, Hugo Hafeman of Colby and Herman Hafeman of Antigo; also two sisters, Mrs. Fred Hussong of Greenleaf and Mrs. Rose Behringer of Lena.

She was an active member of the Lutheran congregation here and of the Lutheran Ladies’ Aid and Sewing Circle.
The funeral took place on Monday, services being conducted at the Lutheran, Rev. M. Sauer officiating. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery.
