Son of Robert and Amelia Moore Eagerton. Robert married (1) Blanche Christeen Munn, and (2) Lila Moody.

DARLINGTON - Robert C. Eagerton, 62, of 1140 Hartsville Road, died late Thursday in a local hospital following a long illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Saturday from the chapel of Belk-King Funeral Home conducted by Rev. William M. King and Rev. Richard A. Gardner. Burial will be in the Mechanicsville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Eagerton was born in Florence County, a son of the late Robert and Amelia Moore Eagerton. He was a mechanic and previously worked with the State Highway Department. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lila Moody Eagerton; two sons, Robert C. Eagerton of Florence and Harold E. Eagerton of Chulavista, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Boseman and Mrs. Janice Ward, both of Florence, and Mrs. Connie McElveen of Patrick; a step-son, William Cooke of Durham, N.C.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Geneva Weatherford of Darlington; two brothers, Hoyt L. Eagerton of Florence and J. D. Eagerton of Athens, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. George Putnam of Anderson, Mrs. E. S. Birch and Mrs. J. C. Sutton of Florence; grandchildren and one great grandchildren.
