Byron Wooden's father Ira was a very early settler in Burford (located in Brant County, Ontario, CN), arriving about 1810. His family was from Dutchess Co. in New York. In 1810 Ira's parents and most of his siblings moved to Cayuga Co., New York, but Ira continued to Canada. Ira was married 3 times and fathered 17 children. His 2nd wife, Irena Rathburn, was the mother of Byron.
Byron moved to Michigan about 1859-60. Byron married Cornelia Evans in 1866 and they had 9 children. He died in 1915 in Allegan, Michigan. he had served as a minister.
