Mr. James Franklin Hornsby

Mr. James Franklin Hornsby, 85, of Ozark, died Monday, January 14, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Steve King officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M.

Mr. Hornsby was born October 18, 1927 in Coffee County to the late Lemuel Melvin Hornsby and Bessie Blondell Clark Hornsby. Mr. Hornsby moved to Ozark in 1947. He was a member of Ozark Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday school. Mr. Hornsby worked with various aircraft maintenance contractors at Fort Rucker as an aircraft mechanic for 34 years until his retirement in 1992. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Wendell J. Roberts; one grandson, Brian Roberts; one sister and six brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lilla Mae Jacobs Hornsby of Ozark; one daughter, Dianne Hornsby Roberts of Eufaula; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Glenda Hornsby of Montgomery; two grandchildren, Janet Roberts of Eufaula, Adam and Amber Pilgreen of Montgomery; one sister, Peggy Lewis of Ozark; two brothers, Stancel Hornsby of Jack, Alabama and Lemuel Hornsby of Pensacola, Florida.
