Betty Whaley Bagwell died March 6, 2008. She was born April 1, 1927 in Bibb County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Franklin and Mabel Thrailkill Whaley. She was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor as a graphic artist. Graveside services were at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include a son, Michael Charles Bagwell; grandsons, Jeffery Nolan Bagwell and Michael Charles Bagwell, Jr., Temple, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Vanesse Rene Bagwell, Maya Bagwell, and Cayden Bagwell; an aunt, Joy Marshall, Peachtree City; and cousins, Maria Darnell and Kathy Darnell, both of Martinsburg, W. Va., Bruce Sartin, Rockville, Md., Kip Marshall, Peachtree City, W. R. Huycke, Hampton Roads, Va., the Rev. Richard Huycke, Newman, Jay Huycke, and Wanda Moore, both of Duluth, and Bruce Sartin, Alexandra, Va. Cremation Society of the South at Eagle's Landing was in charge.
