Donna Rae Nielsen, 74, of Orem, passed away January 10, 2013. She was born March 7, 1938, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, to Arthur Carl Anderson and Edna Mae Kyser Anderson.
Donna graduated from Glenns Ferry High School, and studied home economics while attending Brigham Young University. On September 17, 1958, she married L. Gerald Nielsen. She served several years as a hostess for the Miss Orem Scholarship Program. She was a skilled seamstress, sewing wedding dresses and handmade clowns for many years.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Donna served as Primary president and in various roles for the Relief Society and Young Women organizations.
She is survived by her husband; four sons and one daughter: Rick (Becky) Nielsen; Craig (Sonya) Nielsen; Mike (Rosaura) Nielsen; Lori Ann Dkhissi; Scott (Nicole) Nielsen; 26 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers and one sister; and Abdel (Sabah) Dkhissi and Neecholl Nielsen.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Mae Anderson; her father, Arthur Carl Anderson II; her brother, Arthur Carl Anderson III; and a granddaughter, Shelby Nicole Nielsen.
