Before retirement, he was an automotive foreman for Con Edison in New York for 32 years.
He enjoyed music and a good joke.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Nicholson of Port St. Lucie; stepson, Alexander Laing; stepdaughter, Kelcy Laing; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be conducted from 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at Aycock Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie. A service will be conducted at noon Jan. 10 at First United Methodist Church in Port St. Lucie with the Rev. Renee Lawrence officiating.
Burial will be in Rolling Oaks Cemetery, Port St. Lucie.
