Donald E. Fenstermaker, 72

Mr. Donald E. Fenstermaker, 72, of 396 Stone Springhouse Road, Titusville, died at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Mr. Fenstermaker was born on April 16, 1938, in Titusville, to the late Harry and Gertrude Johnson Fenstermaker.

He married Carole Brenner on June 30, 1962, at St. Walburga Church.

He attended and earned a GED from Titusville High School.

He also served in the U.S. Army for three years and was honorably discharged with the rank of private.

Mr. Fenstermaker was employed for 30 years in the supply department at Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. and retired when the plant closed.

He was a member of the BPO Elks 264.

He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and traveling.

He especially loved being around his grandchildren while they were flying remote controlled helicopters; he enjoyed listening to them sing; and he also enjoyed attending their sporting events.

Mr. Fenstermaker is survived by his wife, Carole Fenstermaker, of Titusville; four children, Theresa Lind and husband, Ray, of Titusville, Michelle Murphy, of Cleveland, Eric Fenstermaker and wife, Erika, of Scranton, and Stacy Gibbons and husband, Charles, of Franklin; six grandchildren, Megan Fenstermaker, of Titusville, Rachel Murphy, of Cleveland, Evan Fenstermaker, of Scranton, Jeffrey Baldwin Jr., of Franklin, Maddison Murphy, of Cleveland, and Steven Gibbons, of Franklin; four sisters, Eleanor Patterson, of Union City, Martha Brown, Ethel Doutt, and Ellen Fill and her husband, Richard, all of Titusville; a brother-in-law, Dennis Brenner Sr., of Spartansburg; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Fenstermaker and Inge Fenstermaker, both of Titusville, and Viola Fenstermaker, of Saegertown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: LeRoy, Hugh, Harry, William and Lawrence Fenstermaker; and two sisters, Edna Boyer and Gertrude Fenstermaker.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from Free Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Timothy Maybray officiating.

Interment will be in Kerr Hill Cemetery.
