Hold Rites for William Prophet, Ex-Logan Resident
LAFAYETTE — Funeral services were held at 2 p-m. Tuesday at the Hippensteel funeral home in Lafayette for William M. Prophet, 79, of Lafayette. Prophet died at 9:15 p.m. Friday at a hospital in Milwaukee, Wis., following an illness of several months.
Born at Kokomo, he was married in 1928 to Bessie "Farmer. The couple, lived in Logansport
before moving to Lafayette in 1950.: Prophet was a member of the Lafayette Church of the Brethren
and was employed by the Oscar Winski Company prior to his retirement seven years ago.
Survivors include the "widow; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Redinbo, Lafayette; three sons, Donald M.,
of Milwaukee; Glen, of Michigan City and Wayne, of Plainfield; two stepsons, James Farmer, of
Indianapolis and Virgil Farmer, in Iowa; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lavonne' Dubuque, of Monticello and Mrs. Freda Brown, in Arizona; two :sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Conklin and Mrs. Roxy Shaw, both of Logansport and two brothers, Vern, of Rochester and Earl, of Logansport and twenty grandchildren.
