Born in Echwarden, Oldenburg, Germany. Son of Hermann Hullmann and Cath. Altevoigt. Husband of Johanna Margarete Elise Fastje; married about 1877. Father of Johanna Hullmann, Fred Hullmann, Caroline Hullmann Vernon, George Hullmann and Emma Bertha Hullmann. Great-grandfather of CatMoves.

After the death of Johanna in 1899 Henry married as his second wife Lydia Roeh Naeve on August 14, 1901 in Denison, Iowa.

George Hullmann left home sometime between the death of his mother and his fathers second marriage. Family legend has it that he couldn't stand his stepmother and so left. It seems that no one heard from him again.

Henry died of a cerebral embolism March 22, 1934. Buried March 27, 1934 in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Denison, Iowa.
