Ronald W. Boyce, 71, of Washington, NH, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in his home.

Ron was born in Derry, NH on April 15, 1933, a son of the late Walter and Melva (Lemos) Boyce.

He was a resident of Washington for 28 years, formerly living in Derry. Ron graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1951, where he was active in football, baseball and basketball. He coached the Derry Pin-ups Girls Basketball team. Ron also played semi-pro basketball at the Boston Garden. Joining the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, Ron served on the USS Rehoboth, the USS Midway and was discharged on the USS Simkin. After retirng from the Navy, Ron worked as a bartender at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH. He later went to work for N.E. Telephone & Telegraph from which he retired in 1992. Ron was an active member of the American Legion, having held every office. He was past commander at Post #9 in Derry and when he moved to Washington, he held the office of finance officer at Post #59 in Hillsboro, NH.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Evelyn A. (Mealey) Boyce of Washington, one daughter, Patricia Preston of Manchester, NH, four sons, Steven Boyce of Auburn, NH, Gary Boyce, Alan Boyce both of New York, Bert Boyce of Hillsboro, one stepdaughter, Jean Forand of Weare, NH, two stepsons, Mark Plantier and Bruce Plantier, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one stepson Steven Plantier and a step grandson, Steven Plantier II.

Burial in E. Washington Cemetery.
