Joyce Arlene (Doede) Court was born on February 22, 1928 in Weyauwega, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Obed W Doede (1903–1967) and Frieda A (Hartzke) Doede (1899–1982).

She was married on October 22, 1949 in Waupaca County to Elmer Charles Ervin Court (1925–2011), the son of Richard William Court (1892–1969) and Helena Alwine Dorothea Charlotte "Lena" (Kunstman) Court (1893–1973)

They moved to Naperville, Illinois in 1953, and Joyce worked part-time over the years at Amlings Flowers and Jewel/Osco, and she was a member of Word of Life Lutheran Church.

Joyce was 83 years old and a widow when she passed away on June 8, 2011 at ManorCare Health Services of Naperville.

Preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Joyce was survived by a married daughter and by a granddaughter and grandson. She was also an aunt several times over.

Funeral Services were held at Word of Life Lutheran Church, and burial was in Naperville Cemetery.
