Mr. Andy William White, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on April 8, 1925 to the late John Dillard and Pearlie Beamer White. Mr. White was retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was a member of the Salvation Army. He served our country in the United States Navy during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Mary "Flora" White of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Luann and Brian Boyer of Mt. Airy; a son, Jonathan White of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Joshua White, Cayla Boyer, Raina White, Madison Boyer and Eli White; a sister and brother-in-law, Reba and Reid Adams of Mt. Airy; several special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by sisters, Carolee Cooke and Nada Collins; brothers, Millard, Junior, Herman, and Billy Sam White. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Major Mike Rodgers and Rev. Kenneth Young officiating. Burial will follow in Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Monday Night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
