Obituary: The Friends of the family of Mr. T. J. Bryant are much grieved to learn of the death of Mr. T. J. (Jasper) Bryant, which occurred last night, at his home in the Socrum neighborhood. Mr. Bryant would have been 74 years old had he lived until next January.

About two and a half years ago he sustained a stroke of partial paralysis, and had never completely recovered, although able to be up and about. His last illness was of just one week's duration. Mr. Bryant has never married. He was one of eleven brothers and two sisters, constituting the well-known Bryant family—six of the brothers and one sister surviving him. He had been a resident of the Socrum community ever since 1870 – a period of 50 years.
