Another name was stricken from the ever-lessening roll of LaMoure County pioneers when Mr. Martin Ravely answered the final summons at 5 o'clock a. m. on Wednesday, February 2nd, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. M. Wheeler.
Martin Ravely was born in Dart County, Ohio, on the 18th of May, 1839, and was therefore nearly 82 years of age. He came to North Dakota in 1889 and settled on a farm near Edgeley where he made his home until about eight years ago, since then he has made his home at the J. M. Wheeler and F. H. Lester homes here, and with relatives at Edgeley. Twelve year ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered and has been practically helpless for several years past.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. J. M. Wheeler and Mrs. F. H. Lester, and four sons, W. E. Ravely, of Edgeley, U. S. Ravely, of Jud, A. L. Ravely of Courtenay and A. G. Ravely, of St. Cloud, Minn.
Funeral services will be held today at the Congregational church at 1 o'clock p.m., with interment in the local cemetery.
The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of everyone in their hour of sorrow.
