CONNEAUT — Joseph Adamack, age 92, of Conneaut, Ohio, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 9, 2013, at his residence.

Joe was born Oct. 11, 1920, in Summerset, Pa., the son of Anastasia Adamack. Joe moved to the Conneaut area in 1940 and went to work at Burke Machine & Tool Company. In 1942, Joe enlisted in the United States Army and served in the European Theatre, traveling through France, England, Germany, Belgium and Holland during World War II, until he was honorably discharged in 1945.

Joe returned to Conneaut and back to work at the Burke Machine & Tool Company. He later worked as a fireman for the Bessemer Railroad for a short time before becoming a full time firefighter with the City of Conneaut, where he served for over 33 years until his retirement from service to the city in 1986. Joe then worked for Premix as a machinist until he permanently retired in 1992.

Joe was a former member of the American Legion and enjoyed working and playing around the house with his family. One of his greatest joys was playing baseball with his son, Randy, in their yard.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Joe is survived by his wife, MaryJane "MiMi" Julio, whom he married Oct. 21, 1950; a son, Randy and Morgan Adamack of Seattle, Wash.; grandson, Joseph and Alicia Adamack of Seattle, Wash.; granddaughter, Elizabeth of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Doris "DoDo" Copple of Erie, Pa., Theresa "Tita" DeMarco of Conneaut, Shirley and Bob Warren of Conneaut and Janet and Roy Woodworth of Conneaut; and brother-in-law, Tony and Norma Julio Jr. of Conneaut;

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 11th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12th, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, with Father Philip Miller, of STM/SFC Parish, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut, where the American Legion Honor Squad will conduct Military Honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Conneaut Firefighters Association. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
