Fred Minear 89 of Grinnell died sunday afternoon at the Grinnell General Hospita's long term care center where he had been living since last fall. Burial in the Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell, Iowa.
Fred was the son of John and Sarah Fowler Minear born near Livonia, Missouri. He attended the schools near his family home.
He was married to Martha Ann Carpenter at Unionville, Missouri November 15, 1905. The couple had five children. Jettie, Guy, Lloyd, Rex and Dorothy.
They had farmed following their marriage. In 1931 they came to the Newburg area and farmed until 1948. Then they came to Grinnell to make their home. Prior to Martha's death on August 26, 1971 they had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
