Biographical information:
Ruth Pearl Johnson was the daughter of Arthur and Matilda Johnson Johnson. She was born in Boxholm, Iowa on July 25, 1894. Ruth graduated from high school in Dayton, Iowa and attended business school in Des Moines. Among her employers was an attorney in Boone, Iowa named Hollingsworth and she also worked in some capacity for the Iowa Legislature in Des Moines. Ruth was somewhat secretive in details of her marriage to Guy. Her son Charles Hugh Ingersoll can't recall having seen Guy more than 3-4 times in his lifetime in spite of the fact that Guy was the father of Charles and his two sisters, Dianne and Roberta. Guy abandoned the family in 1939-1940. Ruth met Guy at Fort Bliss, Texas while she was tending to her younger brother, Mack, who was gassed during WWI. The older sister, Dianne, was born in Dallas, TX on March 17, 1931 so it can be assumed Ruth and Guy married sometime prior to Dianne's birth.

Guy married Minnie Boone in 1918 and they had one son, Willard B. Ingersoll in 1919. It is questionable if Guy abandoned Minnie and Willard, or if Minnie, who was a school teacher and self supporting, left Guy. Minnie and Guy were not divorced when he and Ruth married. Minnie had taken their son and moved to Los Angeles about 1926 Minnie never remarried. These two families that Guy fathered did not know about each other.
Ruth married twice after she divorced Guy, but had no more children after Dianne, Charles and Roberta.
