SIDER, Donald Andrew - of Welland, at the Welland Hospital on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at age 80. Beloved husband for 57 years of the late Joan Sider (December 24, 2012). Loving father of Barbara Middlebrooks (Robert) of Orillia, Donald Sider Jr. of Niagara Falls and the late James Sider (1986). Cherished grandfather of Matthew and Christopher. Dear brother-in-law of Donald Reid (Gigi), Pat VanDelen (John), Sandra Yeomans (Cal) and Wendy Scheer (Garry). Lovingly remembered by one niece and three nephews. Predeceased by his parents Helen and Andrew Sider and his mother and father-in-law Mary and James Reid. Mr. Sider was a professional fire fighter with City of Welland from 1964 until his retirement in 1992. He also worked in the parts department at Brian Cullen Motors for several years and drove school bus in the early 1950's. Mr. Sider was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4, Welland and was a former organist at the Free Methodist Church on Grove Street in Welland. Friends are invited to visit the family at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME , 241 West Main Street, Welland, on Friday, January 11th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 12th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cudney chapel. Interment will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Leukemia Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
