Murry married Theda Colleen Martin on May 29, 1952, and they lived on the family farm where they worked and raised their family together for almost fifty years until her death in 2002. He was a hard-working farmer all his life, producing hogs and cattle, along with many field crops until the time of his death.
Murry was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Douglas Baker, sister, Vera Taylor, son, Brian Baker, and great-granddaughter, Emily Paige Lollis.
He is survived by a sister, Jannie Smith of Edmond, brother, John Baker of Goldsby, daughter and "son"-in-law, Leschen and Dale Nye of Lindsay, granddaughter, Kari Lollis of Blanchard, and granddaughter, Julie Dunn and husband Nathan of Frisco, Texas. He also leaves four great grandchildren, Allison and Bailey Lollis, and Braden and Alexis Dunn.
Funeral services for Mr. Baker are set for Friday, January 11, 2013, at ten o'clock a.m. at The First Christian Church, located at S.W. 4th in Lindsay, Oklahoma officiated by nephew Kent Baker, and good friend Willie Fize. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Lindsay. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
