W. Earl Curry, 73, longtime plumber, 1133 State street died at 8:35 pm Friday at Mercy hospital where he was admitted Wednesday.

He was stricken with a massive cerebral hemmorrhage while in the garage at his home, returning from a plumbing call. In January 1963, he was hospitalized with an embolism, but had been able to work since...

Surviving are his wife Mrs. Lulu Belle Foley Curry; a daughter Mrs. H Michael (Bernice) Strauss, 1137 state street; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Mabel) Seaver, 147 Charles street; an only grandchild, Michael William Strauss; five nieces and a nephew.

A brother, George, and four sisters, Mrs. Maude Reed, Salt Lake city, Utah; Mrs. Minnie Van Etta and Mrs. Ella Eyre, Watertown, and Mrs. Lizzie Hillsinger, are dead.

William Earl Curry was born June 16, 1892 in Antwerp, a son of Peter and Katherine Nolan Curry. He was graduated from the Antwerp seminary.

A plumber by trade, Mr. Curry held the Number 1 plumbing license in the city. About 1920 he formed a partnership with the late George Marsh, known as Marsh and Curry. From 1921 to 1927, the business was located in the Riverside apartments and from 1927 to the time it was dissolved in 1936, in the Sloat building, Mill street, now the site of the Skyline apartments. From 1945 to 1960, he was a partner with Joseph A. Blake, Jr., in the firm of Blake and Curry Stokers.

Since 1960, when Stoker business was closed, Mr. Curry had been semi-retired, working as a plumber from his home.

On Sept. 5, 1910, Mr. Curry married Miss Lulu Belle Foley of watertown, at the home of his father in the city, with Rev. Francis W. Eason, then rector of Trinity Episcopal church, officiating. They celebrated their 55th anniversary last month at a family dinner.

Mr. Curry was a member of the Master Plumber's union and of the Eagles club.

The funeral will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Poli funeral home and 9 in Holy Family church. Burial will be in North Watertown cemetery.

The funeral for W. Earl Curry, 73, of 1133 State street was held this morning in Holy Family church, with burial in North Watertown.

Mr. Curry, a plumber in the city for years, was Republican supervisor of the 12th ward, appointed in 1933, by vote of the city councilmen to fill the unexpired term of John A. Paul who resigned.

Mrs. Seaver was the last of her family. A brother, W. Earl Curry, long-time Watertown plumber, died Oct. 15, 1965. Another brother and four sisters have also died.
