Charles O. Doss, 86, Of Dimmitt passed away, Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in Amarillo. Charles was born January 23, 1926 In Hale County to Claude and Allie Doss.

He attended school at Running Water Center Plains, in Hale County and graduated from Plainview High School. He served 2 ½ years in the Merchant Marines during WW II North Atlantic, Mediterranean and South Pacific. He was discharged in October of 1946. He married Wilma Bell on February 9, 1947, they lived in Plainview and later moved to Dimmitt in July of 1963. He retired from American Fructose on March 1, 1991 after 20 years of service as Safety Director and Director of Plant Services. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt, serving as Sunday school teacher and Deacon; also Bus Ministry.

He is survived by a daughter and a son, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years; and a sister, Mary Ellen Morris.

Graveside Services at Plainview Memorial Cemetery in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
