Paul W. Sackett, 87, of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, Jan 8, 2013, in Bellevue Care Center.
He was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Lakewood, Ohio, son of the late Paul A. and Vera (Wright) Sackett.
He graduated from New London High School in 1944 and was a WW II Army Air Corps veteran.
Paul was a school teacher in Bellevue City Schools and principal at Lyme School. He was also a tennis coach and play director.
Paul married Jacquelyn (Bachtal) Sackett on Dec. 28, 1952, in Greenwich. She preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bellevue American Legion Post 46, Bellevue Masonic Lodge and BGSU Kappa Sigma.
Survivors include his son, Paul B. (Sylvia) Sackett, of Bellevue; daughters, Lee Ann Sackett and Lynn Sackett, of Bellevue; grandchildren, Paul S. "Sherm" (Hannah) Sackett and Betsy (Andy) Brown, of Columbus, and Sara Sackett, of Westerville, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Connor Brown and Madelyn Sackett.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan 10, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan 11. Burial will follow at Fitchville Cemetery.
