Mrs. Vera L. Sackett, 81, River Road, Fitchville, RD 2, New London, was dead on arrival Wednesday night at New London Hospital.
She was stricken with an apparent heart attack while returning to her home from a neighbor's.
She was born in North Fairfield and with the exception of 12 years in Cleveland, she spent her life in this area.
She was a member of Fitchville Methodist Church, 50-year member of the North Fairfield Lodge 40, Order of Eastern Star; Fitchville Memorial Post 729, American Legion Auxiliary; the River Road Farm Women's Club and the Fitchville Grange.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A., in 1966.
Survivors include one son, Paul W. of Bellevue; three grandchildren; and one brother, Frank S. Wright of Cleveland.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Eastman Funeral Home, New London, with Rev. James Killgrove officiating. Burial will be in Fitchville Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday evening, and Saturday afternoon and evening at the funeral home where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
